I initiated "Tumble with Whitney" as an Instagram page to preserve coaching memories and provide a space for reflection. This humble beginning, born from the need to clear phone storage, transformed into a platform celebrating the growth of young athletes, instilling confidence, and nurturing their capabilities.
As a coach, my mission extended beyond athletic skills. I dedicated myself to empowering young athletes, fostering self-assuredness, and nurturing their aspirations with unwavering determination. The joy I derive from their accomplishments goes beyond a job—it's a profound fulfillment.
I am Whitney Wedgeworth, a 26-year-old native of Dallas, Texas. My background boasts extensive experience in cheerleading, having undergone training at Cheer Athletics and Twist & Shout. Additionally, I have a solid foundation in dance, cultivated through my time at Beyond Belief Dance Company and the nationally acclaimed Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Furthermore, I pursued my passion for cheer at Oklahoma Baptist University, where I had the privilege of being part of their first inaugural College Nationals Cheer Championship-winning team.My coaching journey began early, offering discounted tumbling lessons door-to-door at 16. Keen to make a significant impact, I sought employment at local cheer gyms. A fortuitous encounter led me to a gym close to home, where my coaching passion flourished. Even during college, I commuted to provide private lessons and maintain client relationships.
After graduation, I took a leap, joining a cheer gym startup in Dallas. Amid the pandemic, I observed a surge in demand for home gymnastics mats. Recognizing the subpar quality of available mats during online coaching, I conceived the idea to manufacture my own. This journey led me to collaborate with a skilled partner in China to produce state-of-the-art air tracks.
In essence, my journey spans from a modest Instagram page to a dedicated coach and mat supplier, reflecting my unwavering commitment to youth development, confidence-building, and personal growth. As I continue my coaching and mat production career, I approach it with enthusiasm and determination, aspiring to leave a lasting impact in both fields.
